Battisford and District Cricket Club celebrated its fortieth anniversary a few years ago. From humble beginnings when a group of local chums played at Wattisham airbase to the beautifully position cricket ground at Combs Ford Tye – BDCC now fields 3 men’s teams, a ladies team and 4 junior age groups.
We train on two nights of the week and play social all-comers cricket on Friday evenings.
We also have our own licensed bar where many tales of cricketing moments - true and exaggerated – are shared with visiting teams after the game and at the various social events we hold throughout the year.
This year we will play over 100 games of cricket across our various teams and that does not include the social games against local clubs and pubs. We will also host the 3rd Battisford & District Cricket school triangular tournament which was a great success last year.
Since 2013 we worked with Gt Finborough CE primary school, offering our cricket field for their school sports day! These initiatives marked our focus of taking the club into the centre of our community.
So whether your 7 or 70 years of age we would love to welcome you to our club this 2017 season.
